Service description
Independent Living Centre, Multicultural Aged Care Service is an information service designed to educate, support and partner aged care providers and people from cultural diverse communities to meet the diverse needs of older people.

This resource has been developed to provide service providers and people from multicultural communities with information about culturally specific aged care services in Western Australia.
How and where we can help
ILC MACS is a Statewide Service providing information, education and research to:
Promote access to, and choices of residential and community aged care services for frail older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds through information provision and referral.
Assist aged care providers to plan, establish and evaluate best practice in the delivery of culturally appropriate services.
Deliver Cultural Diversity Training, resources and support to aged care service providers to assist to meet the needs of older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Foster partnerships between government, aged care industry, health professionals and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Who we can help (eligibility)
ILC MACS is available to anyone who requires support to access culturally appropriate aged care services. This can include people from diverse community, residential and community aged care providers, health professionals and the general public.
Fees
There is no fee for information and support, however fees may apply for education and training services.
Funding
The service is funded by the Commonwealth Government, Department of Health and Ageing

To assist us build a comprehensive picture of the spread of culturally diverse residents and staff currently in residential facilities, we would be grateful if you could complete the Cluster Survey for Residents and the Cluster Survey for Staff for your facility. This will also help us identify clusters which would greatly aid us in referrals.
