Respite and Carelink
Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres are an Australian Government initiative aimed at providing information, support and referral to community and respite services for older people, people with disabilities, people receiving palliative care, people with a mental illness and their carers. The Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) is the provider of the North Metropolitan Respite and Carelink Centre. The service is split into two separate areas:
Carelink provides assistance to the general public seeking information, support and referral onto the relevant aged, disability, mental health and general community care services. And,
Respite which provides support to carers by linking them into carer support services and accessing respite care. Respite care is aimed at providing carers with a break from their caring roles and support in continuing their caring role.
For further information please view the appropriate links or contact the Carelink enquiry line to be directed to the appropriate coordinator.
